Description: Palliative care is often overlooked in stroke management, despite its importance in addressing the complex needs of patients and caregivers. This webinar will explore how healthcare professionals can integrate palliative care into stroke treatment, covering symptom management strategies, the needs of families and caregivers, and approaches to improving access to palliative care, particularly in low-resource settings. This webinar is organized in collaboration with the Worldwide Hospice Palliative Care Alliance (WHPCA).

Learning Objectives:

To describe the population of patients suffering from stroke that need palliative care and their special needs throughout the trajectory of illness.
To identify the palliative symptom management strategies used in management of stroke.
To understand the physical, psychological, social, and practical needs of families and caregivers following stroke.
To improve the ability of neurological professionals to integrate palliative care into their practices.
